A good amount of AADP’s funding comes from community donations and the fundraisers/events we hold every year. At these events, we often seek volunteer help with a number of things! Below is a list of the events we plan throughout the year, and the type of help we typically need at each. Simply contact us if you’d be interested in helping out.

 

Laugh for Lives (usually held late February)

Laugh for Lives is a comedy show fundraiser featuring talented comedians. The primary goal of Laugh for Lives is to engage the community in a light-hearted way, but at the same time, promoting awareness and action in the marrow registry. We hold a drive to register people at the show every year. =

At Laugh for Lives, we usually need help with photography for the event, designing the promotional materials, ushers, drive volunteers, etc. 

 

Barry Foon Legacy Golf Tournament  (usually held late September)

The Barry Foon Legacy Golf Tournament is usually held at the Blackhawk Country Club in Danville – where Barry Foon was a member. The golf tournament features a fun-filled day including contests, lunch, a silent auction and dinner. The course itself is a beautiful and challenging course where the LPGA is often held.  

At the golf tournament, we need volunteer help with photography for the event, registration/check-in volunteers, contest witnesses at the holes. 

 

Fantasia Gala  (usually held mid-November, on a Friday or Saturday night)

Fantasia is an evening gala usually featuring entertainment, good food, a corporate reception, and then a networking mixer. In 2008, it was held at the Asian Art Museum. 

At Fantasia, we need help with photography, videography, DJ services, venue procurement, catering. 

 

Hip Hop 4 Hope  (usually held in October)

Hip Hop 4 Hope is a hip hop/step dance competition to engage student groups with AADP in an effort to raise awareness, funds, and encourage contestants and audience members to join the registry. 

At this event, we are looking for volunteers who can help with designing the promotional materials, photography, ushers, drive volunteers, etc.
