The Asian American Donor Program helps patients by:
Donor Drives
- AADP's specializes in outreaching to Asian, Multi-Racial and Minority Communities. We help patients conduct donor drives for their families and friends, as well as in communities in the larger Northern California area.
Patient Campaigns
- AADP helps develop campaigns for patients by helping to send out press releases, organizing press conferences and basically getting a patient's story out in the community to ask the community for help.
Patient Advocacy
- if you are having trouble navigating the hospital system, need help talking to your doctor or transplant team, or have any other issues, AADP can help serve as yo
ur advocate.
- The National Marrow Donor Program's Office of Patient Advocacy is also a wonderful resource. They are able to provide you with a case manager to help manage financial issues, insurance issues, travel issues, and other problems or concerns associated with your search or transplant.
Search Intl. Registries
- AADP can help transplant centers conduct searches of registries in Asia such as the China or Hong Kong registry.
Translating
- AADP staff can help patients with translating, particularly into Cantonese, Taiwanese, Tagalog and Spanish.
