 | Michelle Ignacio | Michelle Crisologo Ignacio is a married, 32 year young Vallejoan. While some of her hobbies include sewing and spending time at Cache Creek, she is also an avid runner and gardener who loves being outdoors. Michelle also worked at Genentech in South San Francisco. But her greatest joy in life is being surrounded by her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. After “not feeling right” for a couple of weeks, Michelle made a visit to the ER.  | Viet Lam | My name is Viet Lam and I am 37 years old. I am grateful for the many wonderful opportunities that were given to me. I was born and lived in Vietnam for eleven years before my two siblings and I defected on a small boat. After refugee camps, we settled in the United States of America. Through the generosity and the kindness of many people, I graduated from college and went on to obtain a medical degree. Practicing internal medicine in California allowed me to serve a diverse community. Yet, I did not truly grasp what my patients and their families go through until May 2007 when unexpectedly, I was diagnosed with an advanced aggressive Large B-cell Lymphoma. With the help of a great medical team and loved ones, I successfully went through eight cycles of R-CHOP chemotherapy and was in remission. Unfortunately, my cancer came back in 2009.
My Chinese-Vietnamese ethnicity provides me not only a unique life perspective, but it also makes it much more difficult to find a match. This is why I am asking you, particularly those from a Non-Caucasian background to consider being a potential donor. There is a tremendous and urgent need for thousands of people who continually hope for a miracle.

 | Maya Chamberlin | Maya became sick with flu-like symptoms on Sep 9. As was the case many times in the past 3 years, but recently her symptoms worsened. She was immediately taken to the doctor's office on September 10th and after a blood test Maya was admitted to the hospital on September 11th. The Oncologist confirmed the diagnosis through analysis of a bone marrow biopsy. Maya was diagnosed with a rare form of a blood disease, called hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH for short.  | Zhonglin Li | Zhonglin Li (37) and his wife Nianliu are from China. They came to the United States in 2001, and studied in the University of Arizona. On March 13, 2007, detailed blood and bone marrow test results confirmed that Zhonglin was suffering from acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).
In the following months, Zhonglin received a course of initial chemotherapy and two courses of consolidation chemotherapy. He was in remission in July 2007.

 | Wincheng Lin | In 1998, Wincheng organized a bone marrow drive, trying to save the life of a young Chinese American MIT undergrad. Now she needs your help to find her a match! On June 9, 2006, 26 year old Wincheng Lin was diagnosed with AUL, an extremely rare combination of AML and ALL with a tumor the size of a grapefruit in her chest.  | Rohan Karer | Rohan is an 18 month old boy who has a rare primary immune deficiency called X-linked Hyper IGM syndrome. The only permanent cure for this deficiency is a bone marrow transplant.  | Sam Cross | Sam was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on December 2006. He had no symptoms and the diagnosis was made after a routine blood test. Sam was enjoying a full life as a serious student, a captain of the Harvard fencing team, a member of the tennis club team and a regular volunteer at the student-run homeless shelter.
