For newly diagnosed patients, AADP sends out a care package with things that a patient might appreciate/need while undergoing treatment. Things can often get mundane for patients having to sit at home or be confined in a hospital room. We also send out care packages to patients to help lift up their spirits.
Items included in each package are usually tailored towards each patient. Some things we look for are: (items must be new/unused)
- Hand-Made Quilts
- Warming/Aromatherapy Bean Bags (Mint is great)
- Puzzles
- Crossword Puzzles
- Sudoku books
- Children’s DVDs
- Movies
- DVD Series
- Folded Paper Cranes (can get a group to fold 1000 cranes)
- Origami Paper
- Fuzzy slippers/socks (gender specific or unisex for all ages)
- Books (for all ages)
- Itunes Gift Certificates
- Video games/ game devices) (hand held)
- Sour Candy (i.e., sour patch kids) and Hard candy/Lollipops
- Stuffed Animals
- Ready Bath Wipes
- Arts and Crafts Projects (for all ages), including coloring books and markers/crayons/paint for younger patients
- Anti-bacterial/sanitizers
- Lotion
- Lip balm
- Playing cards
- Fuzzy socks/slipper socks (gender specific and/or unisex)
- Fleece Blankets
- Stationary
- Fun trinkets, flashlight....
