I was newly engaged and on top of the world in 2018, when suddenly I was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia) in the beginning of December 2018. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions and I’m still in shock that I have blood cancer. I find myself in denial most of the time.
Please don’t feel sorry for me. Let’s take action! My hope is that we spread the word. It would be so awesome that through this donor registration campaign, I can find a donor in someone like you. But ultimately, if you become a match for someone else in need of a second chance in life…that would be a wonderful gift as well.
Because I am Chinese, my most likely donor would also be Chinese and we need to diversify the Registry. I FOUND A MATCH and had my transplant in May 2019. I am home and doing great. Thank you to everyone who registered in my name and THANK YOU to my donor for saving my life.
Please register to be a stem cell donor.
