I am a mom, a wife, a friend and an ER doctor. I help saves lives every day, now I need your help.
I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in May 2016, one month before we were supposed to move to San Diego. After gaining remission in December, we (me, husband, and two boys ages 7 & 10) finally made our long awaited move this past summer. Before moving, I returned to work as an emergency physician in March, with a new perspective and love for my job.
Well, my chromosomes have decided not to cooperate, and I’m heartbroken to say that I’m relapsing. My only hope for survival is a bone marrow/ stem cell transplant later this fall. I don’t have an ideal match, so timing is critical to have more people register.
If you can’t help me, you can help someone else in my situation. Ethnic minorities are far underrepresented in the donor network, making it much more difficult for us to find a match. ”
I have been an avid skier, fitness enthusiast, who enjoys keeping up with my two active boys and husband. Also, I love working as an emergency physicians and also training residents and medical students. I am Chinese and my most likely donor will be Chinese.
