Sarah is a charismatic and fun-loving bubble tea connoisseur, curator of eclectic Spotify playlists, designated airport driver, and lumpia maker. Her brothers are her best friends, and family means everything to her. She was also a professional violinist until she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a blood cancer.
She was first diagnosed in 2018-just a week after going on a first date with her partner who has stood by her side since.
She finished her treatment in 2019, but relapsed in 2020. Sarah needed a matching stem cell donor to save her life.
Because Sarah is Filipino (Kapampangan/llocano), her matching donor would most likely be Filipino, too.
Sarah found her match and had a transplant in May 2021. She is home, doing well, and recovering.
