This beautiful, warm and loving woman passed away on November 24, 2019 This is a message from her family.
“We are heartbroken to share that after a year long battle with leukemia, Heather passed away on the morning of November 24th. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends while listening to her favorite 90’s jams. We thank you for all of your love and support throughout this difficult time. Heather was truly blessed to have such incredible people in her life. She was a blessing to all of us and will be tremendously missed.”
Heather was newly engaged and on top of the world in 2018, when suddenly she was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia) in the beginning of December 2018. “It’s been a whirlwind of emotions and I’m still in shock that I have blood cancer. I find myself in denial most of the time”, said Heather.
“Please don’t feel sorry for me. Let’s take action! My hope is that we spread the word. It would be so awesome that through this donor registration campaign, I can find a donor in someone like you. But ultimately, if you become a match for someone else in need of a second chance in life…that would be a wonderful gift as well.”
A message from Heather in May. “I FOUND A MATCH and had my transplant in May 2019. I am home and doing great. Thank you to everyone who registered in my name and THANK YOU to my donor for saving my life.”
