A message from Jeremy’s family: Our beloved Jeremy, loving husband and father of 2 vibrant sweet girls, ended his hard fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in the evening on May 30th, 2020. Jeremy had his beautiful and loving wife, Evelyn, by his side.
Jeremy was diagnosed with AML in Nov 2018. It was not an easy battle, and he fought extremely hard. Not only did he fight hard, but he did it with grace, humor, and a positive attitude. We held many stem cell drives in hopes we would find a stem cell donor match to potentially cure Jeremy. Due to Jeremy’s bi-racial background, we were told by doctors that it will be challenging to find a match. Over the course of 18 months, we were overwhelmed by the amount of love and support that we received from strangers from all over the world. Many of you would send us messages letting us know that you have registered to be a stem cell donor and that you hope you will be a match for Jeremy. We passed on many of your comments and well wishes to Jeremy. He wants to thank each and every one of you. Your prayers, comments, and private messages gave him strength to go through the intense chemotherapy treatments. We want to thank all the doctors and nurses that took such great care of Jeremy. We want to thank the organizations and volunteers that helped us at all the stem cell drives.
Jeremy will be missed dearly. He has touched the lives of so many people. He was often a source of strength and inspiration for those around him. Blessed with a quick wit and infectious laugh, he was easy-going, stoic, fair, and selfless. Always willing to help a friend and was never afraid to speak his mind. Jeremy always loved the outdoors and he was adventurous. He has now moved on to his next adventure.
I have been asked and approached by many people, including friends and even strangers, about how they can help Jeremy’s family or where they can send monetary gifts to. I know that one of Jeremy’s wish is to make sure that his girls have funds set aside for their education. This is why I have decided to set up this Go Fund Me campaign to raise funds for Jeremy and Evelyn’s daughters. 100% of your donations will be set aside for their education and well-being.
