My was only a toddler when she was first diagnosed her with Thalassemia. Since the age of 2, My relied on blood transfusions to help maintain her health. In 2011, she received a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, the bone marrow transplant did not succeed. My’s family was hopeful for another transplant in January 2012, but cannot contact the same benefactors. My’s health severely declined, thus frequent trips to the hospital and overnight stays were made regularly. My and her family searched for another possible match. Unfortunately, My passed away from health complications. She was 14 years old.
