Nick Glasgow was diagnosed with Leukemia in March 2009. His Japanese and Caucasian heritage hampered efforts to find a match. Nick’s family and friends put in a tremendous amount of effort in educating the community on the need for ethnic minorities in the National Registry. After being told by doctors that Nick had a 0% chance of finding a marrow/stem cell match, Nick did find his match and received a transplant soon after. Unfortunately, Nick’s cancer returned and he passed away in October 2009 surrounded by his family. His story and spirit have inspired many people.
