Saankethi (2) was diagnosed with MDS in April of 2011 in India. After undergoing treatment, the doctors in India suggested that she should be brought to the US to have a potentially life-saving bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. Her newborn brother was not a match. Saankethi and her mother came to America in November of 2011. Saankethi needed a donor before her disease takes a turn for the worse. After battling her disease since she was born, Saankethi passed away peacefully and dearly missed. You can view a full story on India Journal about Saankethi’s search, here.
